History: Founded in 1910 by Rube Foster, the American Giants were one of the most dominant clubs in black baseball from their inception through the 1930s. In addition to founding and owning the club, Foster also played and managed the club. While 1926 would mark Foster’s last year as manager due to failing health, the American Giants finished that season by winning their first of back-to-back Negro World Series titles.
